If you are wanting to enhance and simplify your brow game but aren’t sure which type of treatment to go with- you’ve come to the right place. Here are a few comparison’s of the newest trends you’ve heard all about.
What are Powder Brows?
Powder brows (also known as shaded brows) is a semi permanent make up cosmetic procedure in which pigment is deposited into the surface layers of the skin (the dermal and epidermal junction) to create a pixelated look, that of which mimics the way make up enhanced brows look. Think of it as a soft grazing of the skin done by a tattoo machine designed for PMU artists, which unlike tattooing, does not penetrate the deeper layers of the skin.
This also creates a much softer finish, yet provides the coverage that you would normally get using a pomade, or a brow powder.
The name Ombre Powder Brows comes from the multi dimensional technique in which the inner part of the brow is lighter but gradually darkens towards the end of the tail.
What is Microblading?
Microblading has taken the beauty industry by storm in recent years. In similarity to powder brows, microblading is also a semi permanent cosmetic treatment used to enhance your natural brows. However.. the process and results are much different. As the name suggests, microblading uses micro needles to implant pigment into the skin’s surface layers. This is done by a manual hand tool (versus a PMU tattoo machine) which creates hair-like impressions that resemble your natural brow hair, making them look and feel significantly natural. The microblading pen has a very fine tip, giving it the ability to make fine incisions without having a bold, dramatic outcome.
It all comes down to personal style, skin type and colouring when choosing one method over another.
